Ashley Karel Gomez, beloved daughter, mother, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on August ___, 2025, at the age of 23 in Kissimmee, Florida. Born on May 13, 2002, in Celebration, Florida, she was the beloved daughter of Jessica Karel Nava and Gabriel Alexander Gomez. Ashley was a bright and vibrant light from the moment she entered this world. She was the cherished only daughter of Jessica Nava, and together they shared a deep, unbreakable bond. Ashley was lovingly raised not only by her mother but also by her grandmother, Rosalba Wislar, who played a major role in guiding and shaping her life. As the eldest granddaughter, she held a special place in the hearts of her large, loving family. Ashley was the proud and devoted mother of her five-year-old son, Liam, who was the joy and center of her world. Becoming a mother brought out a depth of love and strength in Ashley that was felt by everyone around her. Above all, Ashley was hilarious. Her sense of humor was legendary. Whether it was a funny dance, funny face, a one-liner, or a full-on story, she had everyone laughing—often until they cried. Her laugh was absolutely contagious—once you heard it, you couldn’t help but laugh along. Ashley had a huge heart. She loved life and had a deep desire to help others in their time of need, often going above and beyond to put a smile even on a stranger’s face. One of her dreams was to work in the healthcare field, where she hoped to make a difference for people in need. Her compassion, empathy, and kindness were just as memorable as her jokes. Ashley was a selfless, vibrate young lady with a smile that would light up an entire zip code. Ashley really enjoyed reading, listening to music and crime podcasts or shows and loved doing her make-up and hair, she was a girly girl all the way through. She was also a proud foodie—always up for trying new things, always hungry for the next delicious bite, and often sharing her love of food with those around her. Meals with Ashley were full of laughter, storytelling, and second helpings followed by a good nap. Ashley’s life was not without struggle, but her battles never defined her. She was so much more than the hardships she faced. She was joy, humor, tenderness, and love—all wrapped in one unforgettable person. She is survived by her five year old son Liam D. Reyes, her mother Jessica K. Nava, her father Gabriel A. Gomez, her step-father Marcos A. Nava, her fiancé Zachary Ly Vu, her maternal grandparents Rosalba Wislar and Albino Wislar, her paternal grandparents Miguelina Escotto and Rafael Gomez, her paternal siblings, Genesis Gomez, Linda Gomez, Gabriel Gomez and Alex Xander Gomez, her aunts Edna M. Ochoa and Laura R. Cruz, her uncles Hugo Ochoa and Alexander Palma, her cousins, and a wide circle of friends and loved ones who will always carry her spirit in their hearts. Ashley will always be remembered for her enormous empathetic, kind and humble heart, infectious laughter, witty sense of humor, her love of good food, her generous soul, and her fierce love for her son and family. A funeral service celebrating Ashley’s life will be held on Sundy, August 17, 2025, at Funeraria Borinquen from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. The family welcomes all who knew and loved her to join in honoring her memory. Any contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to her mother and will be used to help fund her son’s future education.
